Australia
Bahrain
A fifth grade class at KIS will be participating in a 24 hour Skypethon in December. During this 30 minute live Skype students will be answering questions to solve where the other class is located. They will then learn about the culture of the other class, as well as tell about their own culture.
One of the first grade classes at KIS has a buddy class where they have sent a video with introductions and have told a little about our school. We are looking forward to hearing back from our new friends.
China
Students in fiftth grade have connected with a class in China by creating an introduction video. We are working on connecting our blogs so we can learn about what each class is doing during language arts time.
England
Second grade students have connected with students over email. They have sent emails back and forth between the classes and have included pictures in the emails. We are looking forward to continuing to learn about our new friends.
South Africa
There are two classes that have buddy classes in South Africa, a 2nd grade and 4th grade class. We have been exchanging videos and learning about the cultures in each school.

Students in fifth grade have created videos for a mystery buddy by asking and answering questions. They have almost figured out their exact location.
Pennsylvania
Second grade students are excited to learn more about American culture. They started their connection by creating a video for their new friends and giving them a tour. We are excited to learn more about our friends soon.
North Carolina
Third graders are excited to begin their connections with the mystery global buddy class. They are working to create a video for them soon to answer their questions and ask some of their own.
Texas
The pre-kindergarten and junior kindergarten classes at KIS have global buddies in Texas and they are excited to learn more about their new friends. They created a video to share what they know about KIS.
Virginia
Fifth grade students at KIS connected with middle school students in Virginia through mystery buddy videos.
Kenya
Our students in both kindergarten classes at KIS have had a live Skype session with new friends in Kenya. They showed us their school, books they read, sang us a song, and gave us a tour of their garden. We are looking forward to coming up with ways that we can help their school by fundraising to donate a water filter so our new friends can get clean drinking water.
New Zealand
Three classes (first, second and third grade) at KIS have connected with classes in New Zealand. Our first grade class is using Kids Blog to learn about the students. In second grade we have sent a video to our new friends and we are looking forward to hearing back from them. Our third grade class will be doing a live video chat on December 2nd where we will learn about each others classes.
