A fifth grade class at KIS will be participating in a 24 hour Skypethon in December. During this 30 minute live Skype students will be answering questions to solve where the other class is located. They will then learn about the culture of the other class, as well as tell about their own culture.

One of the first grade classes at KIS has a buddy class where they have sent a video with introductions and have told a little about our school. We are looking forward to hearing back from our new friends.

Kenya

Our students in both kindergarten classes at KIS have had a live Skype session with new friends in Kenya. They showed us their school, books they read, sang us a song, and gave us a tour of their garden. We are looking forward to coming up with ways that we can help their school by fundraising to donate a water filter so our new friends can get clean drinking water.

New Zealand

Three classes (first, second and third grade) at KIS have connected with classes in New Zealand. Our first grade class is using Kids Blog to learn about the students. In second grade we have sent a video to our new friends and we are looking forward to hearing back from them. Our third grade class will be doing a live video chat on December 2nd where we will learn about each others classes.
